The Day Program, Adult Life Skills, is headquartered at the Maggie Beers Training Center. There are also small programs at satellite locations. Our programs are designed for individuals who do not have the ability to work in the community, workshop settings or assisted work programs. Emphasis is placed on daily living skills, social skills, leisure and recreational activities, communication, cultural activities and nutrition classes.

In 2006 the program was revamped giving clients the opportunity to explore new subjects and take field trips. Heavy emphasis is placed on building self confidence through volunteerism. Each day, participants have the opportunity to choose between several activities and learning opportunities.

We believe that learning opportunities must be wrapped around relevant daily living skills. As an example, clients in the nutrition class will learn counting skills to make grocery lists and adapt recipes. They will improve reading skills and internet skills while researching recipes and of course cooking skills when preparing food.
There are satellite programs for older clients who still want to participate in community activities and craft projects, but also need to have time to rest each day.
